Посещение островов Тосканского архипелага
The islands of the Tuscan Archipelago are seven wonderful pearls of the Mediterranean scattered along the coast between Livorno and Grosseto. The best point to get to them is Piombino, a town about 40 minutes away from Massa Marittima.
Piombino is the reference port for ferries that move between the Island of Elba, Island of Pianosa and Sardinia. in fact you can reach Elba in about an hour.
Frequent departures are scheduled not only in the summer but throughout the year. The service is guaranteed by several shipping companies with many dedicated ferries.
The main landing points are located on the eastern coast of Elba Island, the closest to the continent, and are Cavo, Portoferraio and Rio Marina. Once arrived you can decide to continue sailing on a different ferry that allows you to reach Pianosa. The islands of Giglio and Giannutri, located south, are instead more easy to reach from the Argentario, departing from Porto Santo Stefano.
The islands of Capraia and Gorgona can be visited departing from the port of Livorno. Unfortunately, in this case the connections are not very frequent, but in the summer the service is improved to meet the demands of the tourists.
